Nursery Pictures

Susan returned from Africa last Friday, and a very pregnant Julie came up Saturday for a visit with her much-missed mom. These are some pictures of the decorative prints she brought back for "the bump"'s nursery. We went over to Ft. Wayne and are getting them framed in nice simple, black wooden frames.

Back Home in Indiana

With Susan still in Africa, and me home alone back in Indiana, I've been digging into the landscaping project.

Poignant Picture

This is the last family photo taken right before Charlotte's death - in the Peabody dining room, March, 2007.

This is the Life

This exactly what Cattail was made for. The new couch has really added the right touch. And, yeah, of course, for Ben's chair.

Box Room Addition

The "box room" now has both a bunk bed and a full size bed (two people side by side); so now each cabin has full size beds, as Julie and Chad brought down our old bed that we had given them.

Sadie Loves the Water

She doesn't swim yet like Tucker, but she goes right in, and had no trouble getting to the pebble "beach" at the Bath Tub.

Rock Happy

June at Cattail

There was still some Mountain Laurel. And in the kitchen video (below) you can see some peonies that Julie picked from our new fence row plantings out front.

The Man

The bump's dad, doing one of the things he does best.

Favorite Pastime

and, of course, besides, reading, eating and hiking, here is the other favorite pastime! That's Julie with the bump's first swim in the creek, and Tucker.

New Discovery

We drove "over the mountain," a route mostly paved now, and found this great Pizza joint in Weaverville. Good beer, fine salads and a host of other Italian-type food , plus home-grown music. Here's the web site: Blue Mountain Pizza

A Thousand Words

This picture tells the story of Cattail; that's the new couch, from Rose's!

Heavy Conversation

Chad, Julie, and Lorien in the kitchen, carrying on the usual conversation.

Upgraded Family Room!

Above is a video shot on our June trip to Cattail, with Julie, Chad, Lorien, and myself. We've made a few changes in the family room, which are displayed here.
